Constance Hotels & FCBL 2015

Chris is just back from Mauritius helping Constance Hotels in his role as ambassador for Festival Culinaire Bernard Loiseau

In the 10th anniversary year of the event, six 2 Michelin starred chefs from Europe teamed up with Island chefs for a culinary festival and competition.

Michael Caines was invited by Chris to attend, and as ever, made a huge impact – winning friends and admirers and having a great time. Michael and his team came an admirable 3rd in the competition.

As well as the starred chefs, there were many foodie celebrities; legendary patissier Pierre Herme, Cyril Lignac and Mercotte from the French version of Bake Off, 2015 Bocuse d’Or winner Orjan Johannesen and many more.

Lumee Street Cafe Bahrain is launched

Lumee, a European influenced Middle Eastern Street Cafe opened last week in Bahrain.

Food Solutions were there to help train the team and launch the project – we have been involved with Hamad Isa from the outset so were delighted to be on hand for the launch.

It is a brilliant concept, and will be a great addition to the Al Abraaj family of restaurants.

This is our first venture into the Middle East, and we are delighted with then outcome.

Good Housekeeping Institute

The GHI Cookery School is LIVE; after a few soft openings and trails, we now have all of the cookery teachers, management and support staff on board – ready to take the first wave of students.

CBFS are thrilled to have supported this project from conception to launch, we are now planning the course program for next year.

Holiday Inn open lobby concept reaches Bilbao

We are thrilled to see our work on a European platform. Last week we visited the Holiday Inn Bilbao to see their implementation of the ‘kitchen’ concept; and what a triumph it was.

Berlin and Amsterdam are coming soon; these are really exciting times………..

More exciting work in Bucharest with Flavours Food Design

Food Solutions have built a great relationship with Flavours Food Design in Romania, they are at the forefront of gastronomy, private club and event catering.

Neil Armstrong is travelling back and forward to Romania over the coming month to support the Fratelli team in launch of their new Flavours Food Academy. In addition Neil is assisting the group with new concept development of 2 new 200+ cover restaurants in the north of Bucharest, launch of a new tapas bar in the centre of town and refresh of menus of their existing operations.

Food Service Cateys 2014

Chris is delighted to be asked once again to be a judge on the Food Service Cateys.

There is a huge amount of talent in this sector, well done to The Caterer and Hotelkeeper for highlighting this once forgotten but now celebrated band of professionals.

Crowne Plaza MBS Manchester

We are delighted to be involved in this hugely exciting venture in Manchester – it’s early days, but over the next few months we will be pulling together the detailed F&B plan.

Not only will it be a Crowne Plaza; in addition there will be luxurious Staybridge suites, and a new home for Manchester Business School Executive Education.

New Middle Eastern grill concept comes to London

We are very excited to be working on the launch of a brand new street food concept coming to London. Based around salads, bread and a theatre style grill, this will bring the exotic enticement of Arabia with a clean and fresh image.

More news to come, launching early summer 2013.

Chris delighted to become ambassador for THINK.EAT.DRINK

Think.Eat.Drink., a new and very important venture to promote and facilitate sustainability in hospitality has been launched by Jamie Grainger Smith; Chris is delighted to become their new ambassador.

Chris fronts Unilever United against waste camaign

Chris has been working with Unilever Food Solutions to help with the creation of content for their groundbreaking ‘United Against Waste’ campaign. Specifically, Chris added much to the waste saving toolkit, creating much of the narrative and adding expert advice. See the results here>

Chris also spoke at the recent launch event alongside Tracey Rogers; MD of Unilever Food Solutions and pioneering waste saving campaigner Tristram Stuart.

Chris and Tristram also appeared on a radio campaign to help promote United Against Waste.

Kitchens and businesses up and down the country will benefit from the works carried out by Chris, alongside Unilever and their team.
